The same person. A different room.
In one meeting, she offers ideas without hesitation. In the next, she barely speaks. Afterwards, someone describes her as “not very confident”.
If the behaviour changes with the room, how much does the label actually explain?
The task may be harder. The people may be less familiar. Or the response to an unfinished idea may be different. Several explanations are possible.
Compare the situations before settling on a description of the person. What becomes easier in one room? What becomes more costly in the other?
Personality may not be the whole explanation.
